One Small Step for Green Energy
Over the past decade, there have been hundreds of millions hundreds of billions of dollars poured into the renewable energy sector. Even with all of that money being funneled into the industry, some experts still fear it could collapse.* While I think there is some validity in those fears, the industry is showing the world that it might be ready to step into the ring as a viable energy solution. Recently, Portugal powered its entire nation for four consecutive days. ** If Portugal’s population of 10 million isn’t impressive enough for you, how about Germany’s 80 million? A little over a month ago Germany’s “clean power” finally met its energy demand.*** Although these are brief periods of time, it is a good sign for the “green energy” movement. The next step will be to see if renewable energy can sustain a country’s energy need for a few weeks or even a month. While I’m not ready to hop on the renewable bandwagon just yet, there are signs the industry is heading in the right direction.
